Because we commit to teaching to mastery, our class sizes are very small compared to classrooms in most educational systems. We like to have classes of about 10 to 15 students, but often our classes are even smaller. As a result, we employ more educators than most other schools of similar size.

Our homeroom teachers are English first-language, foreign-hire teachers, usually from the U.S., Canada, or the U.K. These teachers are generally hired by QSI Headquarters rather than by the school. They hold teaching certificates from the U.S., Canada, or other native English-speaking country. The initial commitment for these teachers is for two years at a QSI school, but at QSI Montenegro, foreign-hire teachers tend to stay longer.

We also employ regional or local teachers who generally teach special areas, such as Physical Education, Music, Art, Technology, and Intensive English. These teachers hold bachelor’s degrees, at least, and must pass teaching certification exams following 12 months of employment.  The same is true for teachers at local Montenegrin schools.

Our Educators

Currently, all foreign-hire teachers hold teaching certification from the United States or Canada. All hold bachelor’s degrees. Sixty percent hold master’s degrees.

All our local-hire teachers hold bachelor’s degrees. Twenty-five percent hold master’s degrees. All local hire teachers must successfully complete Montenegrin teaching certification exams following one year of employment.
