There are several ways that parents can assist or be involved with the school. The first and most important way is to help your child(ren) be successful in school. This is not a single day or single event activity, but requires continued work and support. Children need to acquire general knowledge before they come to school and continue to gain knowledge beyond what is taught by the school. They also need to have a positive attitude about themselves and confidence in their abilities.

Parents also need to know what is going on in the school. We have an open door policy, and parents are always welcome to visit the school and talk to the teacher or paraprofessional. Parents can also stay informed by reading the literature sent home by the teacher and school and following publications on our website. Parents are also encouraged to attend the various school functions such as PSG meetings, Community Time, school plays/musicals, parent-teacher conferences, Open House, and other school-sponsored events.
Parents are greatly encouraged to be involved at school by volunteering to assist with after school activities. Parent presentations and help in classrooms can enrich our program, so don't hesitate to let us know if you have something to offer. Most importantly, please contribute to the QSI community by joining the Parent Support Group (PSOG). Contact the PSG and the school administration to ask how you can help.

PSG meetings are generally held throughout the year, typically after the first Community time of every month. All school related issues are discussed in this open forum. Information concerning PSG activities is published in the school newsletter.
