School Student Council
Since 1931, the goal of NASC has been to help all student councils become more effective organizations. NASC represents middle level and high school councils nationwide and worldwide. It seeks to provide a valuable leadership partnership between students and their school. It creates the opportunity for students to become effective leaders, thus encouraging and influencing a positive school climate.
Our BIS Student council is an official member of the National Association of Student Councils and maintains good standing each year. We enjoy contributing to our school community in many ways including events that support our school climate and culture. We hold elementary game nights and movie nights, sponsor school dances including the Fab Feb Middle School formal and our annual Secondary Prom, Sponsor and organize our Fall Festival, sponsor Teacher Appreciation Week each spring, and other social events throughout the year. We serve our school in various other ways from helping teachers in classrooms, volunteering for our elementary reading buddy program, helping to run the Wild Wind Track Meet each spring, and by being student ambassadors here at BIS.
